"Heath Carpentry helped us build our new home. They did all kinds of work including structural walls and a porch, cladding the whole exterior of the house in timber, building a bespoke staircase, hanging (ridiculously large and heavy) doors, laying a large wooden floor, window boards, building bespoke cabinetry, wardrobes and shelving, decking, skirting and architraves... basically anything we could throw at them! We couldn't fault Gary and Jay. Work was completed to a very high standard, with great input to solve problems and consistent hard work through the whole of the project. They were friendly and helpful throughout the 20 weeks they worked with us - true modern tradesmen. "Heath Carpenters did an excellent job with our oak banister and our under-stairs storage cupboard, can’t recommend them enough. The work to the banister was completed in around 3 days, and the under-stairs cupboard took best part of a week. Gary kept us informed of what he would be doing upon arrival each morning and would check in with us with any queries he had with our design. With working from home in a pandemic we left him to it and trusted his eye for detail. We handed him a rough sketch of the under-stairs cupboard and some photos we had and were able to discuss ideas through and lean on his carpentry knowledge. The recessed handles turned out great. Gary was happy enough to talk through other ideas we had whilst working with us, it’s just a matter of getting him booked in to get him back. "The guys were extremely punctual and ready to start from the get go. I'm actually not sure I've ever had contractors doing work in our house that have refused the offer of tea and coffee. Meticulous in their work, always on the go and no shirking. Cleaned up brilliantly before they left on the first day, I didn't even need to throw the hoover over. Day two, exactly the same as the first. Early and ready to go. Again, cleaned up before they left and left the whole downstairs clean and tidy. The only way you'd have known they had ever been there was the fantastic new doors they had installed. No problems at all in giving these guys a 5 star rating on all aspects. "We have no trouble in recommending Heath Carpentry at all. We decided to replace all our internal doors, which meant some were not standard sizes. However, Gary was able to source doors suitable for the appearance we wanted and within in our budget. Despite the unavoidable delays due to the Covid pandemic, Gary kept us informed and started work as soon as it was possible. Always prompt, and cleaned up at the end of the day, and happy to be left to get on with the job. Brilliant work, and we couldn't be more pleased with the finished result. Also, Gary was able to source the hardware for our doors, which we were glad we chose as it finishes the doors of brilliantly. "This the second time that Heath Carpentry have carried out work for us. As before, the standard of workmanship by Gary and his son is superb. Part of the job was to supply and install oak French doors and side lights between our dining room and living room. The problem was that the size of the existing opening is non-standard, which did not permit the use of a readymade solution. Gary designed and built the side lights separately, enabling a standard set of doors to be fitted. The bespoke side lights and the doors match perfectly. The work was completed to an amazingly high standard and he even managed to get an emergency gas man out to cap off the gas pipe he found when taking up the old flooring. "We had Gary Heath to do a complete new kitchen for us. We asked him to knock down three walls, one of which was a load bearing wall and needed an RSJ. We also wanted him to block up two existing doors, and make a new entrance to the garage. He and his team took a window out and blocked it up, replastered, did all electrics, plumbing, tiling and repainting. The finished job was perfect, everything we wanted. Gary listened to what we wanted and gave us plenty of good advice. Nothing was too much trouble for him, we particularly liked his attention to detail and the finishing off, nothing was left undone. "I was very happy with the results of Gary's work. I asked him to replace some wardrobe doors with some new white doors, inset with stained glass squares, to create a "Mackintosh" style wardrobe. He managed to do this brilliantly. The wardrobe was transformed and I was very impressed by his standard of craftsmanship. He was extremely neat and tidy and kept to timetable. The first thing you did was to lay protective coatings over all the carpets and dust sheets to protect anything that needed protection and this continued throughout the time you were with us. At the end of each day you tidied up and hoovered to ensure that our home was not left like a building site. I still have the memory of you hoovering the drive! I wanted some changes to a built-in wardrobe but the usual bedroom companies would not even consider it. Gary understood what I wanted & helped to design an improved solution.
