Case Study: Oak Staircase

The client for this job had received several quotes for the work and as such was well-informed regarding the type of spindles and newel posts etc. that they preferred. We are pleased to say that we managed to save the client money in comparison to the other quotes whilst still delivering a first class job using quality materials.

You can see from the images that the property had the original stair components which were more traditional in style and stained very dark creating an appearance that the client was keen to change.

You will be able to see the work that is involved in replacing the newel posts. Generally these can never be fully removed as they form an integral part in joining the various structural parts of the stairs, but with careful cutting new posts can be fitted almost like a sleeve. The use of specialist glues assists in this process.

Once the work was completed, the client decorated the entire hall stairs and landing and had new carpets fitted. The difference is incredible and is now a hallway to be proud to show off to guests.

The Customer's Feedback...

The replacement staircase & doors that Gary fitted have exceeded my expectations. His work is of excellent quality and would have no hesitation in recommending him.
